Luxury Hotels in the Lake District

Everyone who has worked for years in hotels dreams about owning the perfect hotel. At Linthwaite we fell in love with its superb location and breathtaking views of Lake Windermere and decided to develop it into one of the best luxury hotels in the Lake District.

We have been awarded "Most Excellent Country House Hotel" by Johansens and are placed in the top 200 hotels of the UK by the AA.

Our hotel is a haven for those with distinctive tastes, who appreciate some of the finer things in life, and who enjoy being looked after in a manner that is professional without being pretentious. Linthwaite offers quality accommodation, and we feel now it is one of the finest luxury hotels in the Lake District.

Accommodation Facilities: 30 bedrooms including our new Luxury Loft Suite, all with private bath, shower, bathrobes, 12-channel TV, CD mini hi-fi, DVD players, Wi-Fi internet connection, trouser press, tea and coffee tray, books, mineral water. Some with lake views, king size beds with canopies. Level 1 accessible disabled room on ground floor with own external access. We are now a non-smoking hotel. Full room service. Ralph Lauren meets Raffles style interior design. Junior Suite with garden view, preferred rooms with lake views and twin bedded rooms also available.

Welcome to Linthwaite House Hotel.

What the Press say

"Hailed as one of the top beauty spots in Britain, the Lake District is at its prettiest in spring. The meadows are dotted with newborn lambs and the daffodils are in full shout adding gashes of yellow across the fertile green backdrop. It's a prime spot for some good old fashioned fresh air for lovers of the great outdoors...Perched high on a hill overlooking Windermere - the largest lake in England - Linthwaite is a refurbished Edwardian country house set in 14 acres of landscaped gardens...the hotel is a haven of tranquility and owner Mike Bevans likes to describe it as unstuffy. He is quite right...When we were not sitting by the crackling fires on cosy sofas, we were taking tea on the terrace, looking open-mouthed at the majestic views over the lake..." Daily Express, 18th May 2002.
