Our passion is to create a comfortable, stylish and efficiently run hotel – we want to be the best we can! Over the years this has meant we have received a number of awards in recognition of our quest for high standards. These awards place us in the top rated and best hotels in the Lake District. Johansen’s Most Excellent Country House Hotel 2007 All Johansen’s Recommended Hotels are inspected yearly and have to meet exacting standards – we were delighted to scoop the top Country House award.

AA 4 Red Stars – the AA selects the best hotels in each category and awards red stars for excellence. This is now called “Inspector’s Choice” (formerly AA’s Top 200 Hotels)
