Judges described our wine list as "A really well put together list which is easy to read, educational as well as humorous and a joy to handle." Every year new wines replace old, and everything seems to taste better all the time. It gets confusing though. The Aussies are now in France producing their home style of wine, and in California many wineries are owned and run by the French... anyway, we continue to look for new wines, and we have an eclectic range of almost one hundred wines from all over the world including many Chilean, New Zealand and Australian besides a good selection of classic Clarets and Burgundies - arranged by taste rather than by country. Our award winning wine list  ( we were also runner up in the AA Restaurant awards) is for drinking and many wines have been chosen to match the type of food we serve.

As a previous winner of Cheeseboard of the Year competition (Egon Ronay; yes it was a while ago), we have an extensive British cheese list including local Cumbrian cheese.

Our Chef  has selected some of Cumbria's award-winning cheeses working closely with John Natlacen of Churchmouse Cheeses in Kirkby Lonsdale who have just won "Best Independent Cheese Shop of Great Britain"!
