What the Press say
"The winter walker's quest for a roaring fire ends at Linthwaite House, where you can ease your aching limbs and be tempted never to stray outside the confines of your armchair. Indeed with a view like this - looking down on to Lake Windermere with the Langdale fells beyond - you hardly need to. The fireside warmth is carried through the interiors, punctuated with rich kilims and stacks of worn leather trunks. You will be pampered but not swamped by service, free to wander off and colonise your own little corner - perhaps a spot by the hotel's private tarn or a cosy sofa to curl up in"...The English Home, January 2003.

What our Guests say
“Our visit to Linthwaite has been very enjoyable; we have felt very welcome and cosseted by all the staff. The atmosphere is very relaxing, warm and cosy. The food is the best we have experienced in all the various places we have stayed over the years. The quality of furnishings, bedding, china etc is excellent and much appreciated – you can’t beat the best! The hotel is spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water for long relaxing baths. Thank you for a wonderful break.”
