If you visit during the winter months, as I did, you may find it difficult to tear yourself away from log fires and afternoon teas, but there are 14 acres of private grounds to explore, including a tarn for fly fishing. In warmer weather, guests can improve their golf on the putting green or play a game of croquet on the lawn. It's no wonder Linthwaite has picked up an impressive array of awards. We loved your hotel. Rarely has a hotel not only matched expectations on actual arrival but exceeded it to such a degree. Your Room 4 is quite stunning. The view was fantastic and the bathroom was, I believe, the best bathroom that we have ever stayed in – and we have stayed in quite a few!! The food, service and general feel of the hotel were all quite superb. We needed a weekend away from it all, just to switch off for a while, and we certainly got one."
