Linthwaite House Hotel included in Condé Nast traveller gold list 2006

The Condé Nast Traveller Gold List is an exclusive collection of recommended worldwide hotels, including only 18 from the UK. Linthwaite House Hotel has been included this year in the Best Location section, and is the only hotel in the North of England to be listed in the awards. Other UK hotels recognized by the magazine include Babington House, Gleneagles, Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Cowley Manor and One Aldwych.

Mike Bevans, owner of Linthwaite House Hotel, said "We are obviously delighted to be included in these highly prestigious awards. The reason we fell in love with Linthwaite House Hotel in the first place was because of the amazing location and views of England's most beautiful region - the Lake District. "

Conde Nast Traveller Gold List 2006 entry for Linthwaite reads as follows:

An Edwardian gentleman's country home converted into a supremely comfortable hotel. Lake Windermere is nearby, as are good pubs and a wide choice of walking trails. The 27 rooms are decorated in warm, neutral shades. Stylish bathrooms. Modern British cuisine and traditional Sunday lunches in the restaurant. Superb views from the terrace. Guests can fish for brown trout in 14 acres of beautifully maintained gardens and private woodland. X FACTOR: 'The sublime setting,' says panellist Sue Harmsworth. 'It's right on top of a hill overlooking Lake Windermere with panoramic views of the rolling fells beyond.'
