Lunch at Linthwaite House Hotel

Lunch in the Lake District – whether it’s an informal open sandwich on the terrace overlooking Lake Windermere, or a three course lunch in our restaurant, Linthwaite is an ideal location to take in the view and sample great food in a relaxed, unstuffy atmosphere.

Lunch is served between 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm, although sandwiches and afternoon tea are available throughout the afternoon.

As an alternative to the terrace menu which can be dowlnloaded above we also offer a table d’hôte menu served in our dining rooms.

• Cream of cauliflower soup
• Caramelised confit duck leg pressing with roast pear and its purée
• Twice-baked mushroom and smoked Lancashire cheese soufflé with pickled mushrooms and their pureé (v)

Second

• Braised mutton rump bourgignonne style
• Roast cod fillet with wild boar pancetta, pod peas and braised baby gem lettuce
• Roast butternut squash risotto with English Parmesan and asparagus (v)

Dessert

• Damson crumble tart
• Bread and butter pudding
• Bailey's crème brulée

First

• Green pea soup with Waberthwaite Cumberland ham
• Grilled Thornby Moor Goats cheese "Stumpie", roast tomato and basil(v)
• Cartmel Valley smoked salmon with lemon and caper berries
• Ham pressing set in its own jelly with vegetable piccalilli

Second

• Roast pork with crispy crackling, roast vegetables, apple and sage jus
• Steamed brill, crayfish espuma, olive crushed potato and truffled leeks
• Braised lamb shank with potato purée and hot pot vegatables
• Open mushroom and leek ravioli with spinach and mascarpone (v)

Dessert

• Chocolate bavarois, kumquat confit
• Banana cheesecake, peanut caramel, mango ice cream
• Sticky toffee pudding, toffee sauce
