Luxury accommodation Lake District: The Bedrooms at Linthwaite House Hotel
Linthwaite is a beautiful boutique country house hotel situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park. This country house hotel offers luxurious hotel accommodation with thirty interior designed bedrooms and bathrooms (some overlooking Lake Windermere and the Lake District fells). It's ideally situated in over fourteen acres of its own gardens, fell side and woods and even has its own tarn, a beautiful 1.5 acre lake. It is the perfect setting for a romantic honeymoon or romantic break, and is used for many new engagements. We believe that this magnificent country house hotel offers some of the best appointed accommodation in the Lake District.

Linthwaite's newest rooms include the Luxury Loft Suite, three new 'preferred' rooms and three new 'superior standard' rooms. We have also recently added a ground floor room, lake view, with its very own private hot tub just outside.
All bedrooms are ensuite with bath and shower, some stand alone, and there is one room with a luxury shower but no bath. All rooms have large flat screen TV's which vary in size according to the size of the room, either an ipod dock radio or CD HIFI player (we have a library of CDs in reception which guests can borrow during their stay), FREE Wi-Fi internet connection, Molton Brown toiletries, waffle bathrobes, hairdryer, iron and ironing board or trouser press, satellite TV (SKY) and tea and coffee making facilities.
Linthwaite is a country house retreat, a home from home, where you will be looked after in an unstuffy manner, from the moment you arrive at the hotel until the time comes to tear yourself away. One of the most frequent complaints we get is 'our stay wasn't long enough'. The hotel has its own tarn where you can fish for brown trout or just listen to the silence, with fabulous views over Lake Windermere. Overlooking the tarn if a summer house which has been decorated with a contemporary potting shed style.
And each evening when you return to Linthwaite after touring the Lake District or visiting one of the many attractions, we will be there to take good care of you and help you call it a day. Service is seamless.
What the Press say
"Linthwaite House, a black-timbered Edwardian country house with extensive grounds and dreamy lake views...It's a place I would like to have spent a week in, not just one night." Paddy Burt visiting her ten favorite small hotels, The Sunday Telegraph, June 2001.

What our Guests say
"An absolutely excellent stay made magical by the snow. In a location that was already beautiful, it transformed the grounds and views into something sensational. The inherent warmth of the staff (and the hotel) were lovely to return to after a day in the cold. There is no doubt that the ambiance of this hotel is exceptional; a combination of diligent, warm and friendly service, excellent food, warm fires and cosy lounges. Staff commitment was epitomised by the efforts made early each day to keep the drive both open and safe."
