The International Wine and Food Society

Linthwaite and Chris O'Callaghan's cuisine are seen as outstanding.

We received a certificate of commendation from The International Wine and Food Society, that recognises Linthwaite and Chris O'Callaghan's cuisine as outstanding. 

The society as a whole is the oldest, biggest and most renowned gastronomic society in the world, with no fewer that 7000 members and 140 branches in 30 countries world-wide.

The society was founded in 1933 by Andre Simon CBE Legion d'Honneur, the most celebrated wine personality of his era, and author AJA Symons with the following aim:

"To bring together and serve all who believe that a right understanding of good food and wine is an essential part of personal contentment and health and that an intelligent approach to the pleasures and problems of the table offers far greater rewards than the mere satisfaction of appetite."

That remains the Society's principal objective.

The IW&FS has an educational role, organising wine tastings and specialist and ethnic food demonstrations as well as an annual picnic prepared by committee members - an educational event in itself!
